Field Setup / Breakdown

All Fields: General Setup
  • Arrive 15-30 minutes early  (depends on type of goals used)
  • Get field into playing condition (pick up trash or other impediments)
  • If your field does not appear to have been relined or is unplayable, there should be paint and a striping tool in the gear box.  Ask for a parent to volunteer to do this while your team takes practice and gets checked in.
  • You should know the combo codes to the locks on your fields!  If not, Email or call Dave P before Saturday.
Field Specific Setup/Breakdown
  • U8 (Scotten): Set up the pop-up goals and flags for your field. If you have trouble with the pop-up goals, ask one of the other coaches (or me) for assistance. Many of the coaches have set them up previously. They are located in the shed at the southwest corner of the Scotten field. Fold up the goals, put them in the cases and return them to the shed. If you are the last one returning equipment, be sure to lock the shed.
  • U10 (Mautino): Put the goals in place, if they are off to the side. Nets and flags are located in the orange bin box on the west side of the field. Install the nets on the frames. Place the flags at the corners. After the last game, return the nets and poles to the bin.
  • U10 Girls-only (Hennessey): Put the goals in place. They may be locked to the fence. If so ,the combo is 0773. Install the nets on the frames. Place the flags at the corners. After the last game, return the nets and poles to the bin. Return the goals to the fence and chain/lock them up.
  • U12 (Sierra College): Put the goals in place, if they are off to the side. The nets should already be on the frames. Place the flags at the corners. After the last game, return the poles to the bin.
  • U14 (Ready Springs): The goals should already be in place. If not, put them in place. The nets should already be on the frames. Place the flags at the corners. They are in the shed. After the last game, return the poles to the shed.

Breakdown
  • Carefully take down the nets and store them in their protective bags (if available).
  • Take care to fold or roll up nets (except SC) so it is easy for the next setup coach to figure out.
  • Return cones and corner markers to the shed or gear box after the last game.
  • If you are the last one returning equipment or leaving the field, double check the locks on sheds/gear boxes.
